I have another great college football movie...Something for Joey. About real life Penn State University football player and only Heisman Trophy winner John Capelletti. Also from the early 1970's from the other accomplished independent (no conference affiliation) college football team - the Penn State Nittany Lions.

The Irony is the 5th game of the second round of the plays offs had better highlights then what were in that video. There are a few since that video was put since he turned 25 that are not on the highlight reel. The NBA can not offer contracts to players below 18 because no one can sign a valid contract before 18. Yes the Mavs drafted him. It was After he won the Euro League Championship and MVP for the Euro League. He is considered a point guard but for his size he would be a point forward, the same as Magic Johnson. The style of basketball played today is positonless so the exact title is not that important. Only if you are 7 foot tall playing center position. All the other positions are interchangeable. It is understandable you do not know much of the nitpicky minutia about the current NBA because most people still use the older concepts and terms when they no longer apply in today's game.

My favorite thing about this movie is that, you know the game at the end? My mom and dad were at that game. My dad was one semester away from completing his MBA (Master's in Business Administration) and my mom worked in the bookstore. My dad, may he rest in peace, was absolutely certain that the Rudy chant was complete fiction. (My mom had to leave 10 minutes early because the bookstore got swamped after games.) And so help me, to my mind the movie was over when Ned Beatty announced over the loudspeaker "MY SON'S GOING TO NOTRE DAME!" -- I feel like that would have made my dad's _life_ if any of his children went to Notre Dame like he did. Not that he had anything against Nassau Community College and SUNY-New Paltz...

Not sure if you guys checked out the film. The film is a much more realistic portrayal based off a non-fiction book, the show is more fictionalized and dramatized to keep you watching. Still a great show, but the more accurate depiction of HS football is shown in the film.

Enough rain can make the ball virtually impossible to pitch/throw with any accuracy, turns the dirt into mud which does not mix well with the game, and same with the grass. Baseballs themselves basically require dry conditions.

Hockey works the same as basketball pretty much. You do bad you get a top 5 pick and get a good prospect then if you do bad again you get another top 5 pick for another good prospect to pair with the one they picked the previous season. I actually like this kind of system more than European football since more teams have a chance of being good instead of just the same teams winning every year. But with those picks some of the prospects don’t pan out and it can be a bad pick and a waste of a bad season.

I know you guys did this a while ago, but I only recently came across this one, and would like to set the record straight about this video. Like what you mentioned about what happened between Colorado and Detroit, that part of the story was NOT covered in the video you watched, and that it was later clarified, well, I would like to clarify something THIS video failed to mention. Yes, there was bad blood between the coach Tremblay and Roy, but what the video failed to mention was the fact that Roy had been mouthing off a bit to the papers, stating that he, alone, won games. And hockey is probably the team sport that relies on the WHOLE team more than any other. A goalkeeper can look great if his defence men clear all the rebounds. And in the game that Patrick gave up all those goals, the defence decided, more or less, to let Patrick do it all by himself, which is why he looked so bad. Yes, he was humiliated and humbled, but in a way, after telling the media that he could do it all himself, he kind of deserved it a little. Yes, it went TOO far. I've lived all my life in the Montreal area, and what most non-hockey, non-Canadian people do NOT understand, is how serious hockey is (or was) taken in Montreal. The pressure on ANY player. The Montreal Canadians have more Stanley Cups than the next two teams combined. They are the only team in NHL history to win five Cups in a row, and they did that twice. Only the NY Islanders came close, winning four Cups in a row. And now, with over 30 teams, it will NEVER happen again. And up until their last Cup in 1993, they had never gone a decade without a Cup, (80's 70's etc.)

Dan Devine is portrayed as an antagonist in the film, with permission from the real Coach Devine. In reality though it was actually Devine's idea to have Ruttiger dress in his final game as a senior.

It's always so funny to me because Saracen is exactly who you want to date your daughter as a dad, but as a coach, it's absolutely the last person because the coach has to have a good relationship with his QB.
